Define the application first
Practice lanes, full cages, boundary nets and residential training areas do not have the same performance or installation requirements. State whether the net will receive direct repeated ball impact or work mainly as a distant boundary barrier.
Measure the complete enclosure
Record the clear length, width and height of every lane. Confirm whether the roof is netted, how many dividers are required and where entrances or overlapping curtains will be placed. If multiple lanes share dividers, provide a simple top-view sketch.
Ask about the full specification
- Material and twine construction
- Mesh opening and thread thickness
- Colour and outdoor suitability
- Edge finishing and border rope requirement
- Panel sizes, joining method and quantity
- Expected installation and replacement plan
The posts, cables, foundations and tensioning system are separate engineering decisions. A net cannot compensate for an inadequate support structure. For permanent or high-use facilities, engage a competent installer or engineer to review the full enclosure.
Prepare a comparable quotation
Ask suppliers to quote the same panel dimensions, number of lanes, roof coverage, dividers and accessories. Clarify whether freight, GST, installation and hardware are included. This avoids selecting an apparently cheaper offer with missing scope.
